Mikkia Johnson, Principal

Mikkia Johnson, Ed.S., brings over two decades of transformative educational leadership to her new role as principal of the Center for Achievement. A dedicated leader within Richland Two since 2010, Johnson most recently served as Assistant Principal at Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary School, where she championed staff development, led data-driven instructional initiatives, and coordinated innovative Response to Intervention (RTI) programs that directly supported student success. Her leadership journey also includes pivotal roles as Assistant Administrator, District RTI Specialist, and Elementary Academy Facilitator, reflecting a career committed to excellence in education.

Beginning her career as a first-grade teacher in 2001, Johnson has developed deep expertise in curriculum, assessment, and the implementation of research-based practices that elevate teaching and learning. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from Benedict College, an M.Ed. in Divergent Learning from Columbia College, and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership and School Administration from Cambridge College. Johnson is a member of the National Education Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and she continues to inspire both educators and students through her vision, dedication, and commitment to academic achievement.

Jamie Richardson has dedicated over 20 years to the field of education, serving in a variety of impactful roles. Throughout her career, she has taught grades 2 through 6 and has supported both students and teachers as a Transformative Coach with the Center for Transformative Teacher Training, a Math Coach for grades 1–6, and a Reading Coach for grades 2–6. She also serves as a local LETRS Volume 1 facilitator, helping educators deepen their understanding of literacy instruction. Mrs. Richardson currently serves as Assistant Principal and as the Magnet Lead for CFA, where she continues to champion academic excellence and innovative practices.

Mrs. Richardson began her career as a 4th grade teacher, returning to the very classroom where she completed her student teaching. Inspired by the mentorship she received early in her career, she has since mentored pre-service and first-year teachers as they grow in the profession. Since joining the CFA family in 2019, she has brought a wealth of experience from her work in Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. Her diverse background and passion for education continue to positively impact the students, staff, and community she serves.
